Dear Reid,
Greetings friends,
Some clients have noticed the different format of our last newsletter and were curious. Our new Pet Portal service provides newsletters quarterly, which take some of the pressure off of me to create new ones myself. Hopefully, you will find the Pet Portal newsletters as enjoyable and useful as our home grown editions. Speaking of Pet Portals, we are having a great response from clients who have set up their Pet Portal pages. They love having easy access to all of their pet's vaccine and drug history, as well as direct access to our online store. If you haven't logged into your pet portal yet, please take the time to explore it. This link will show a short video of how to work the system.
Pet Portal Video Instructions
With Halloween just around the bend, be sure to get your pet's primped for our Annual Halloween Pet Costume Contest. See below for details.
We're always trying to improve our website for you. We've recently added professional instructional videos from VetVids and Cornell University to expand our library offerings. Click here to explore the videos.
We have also added Live Chat services to our website, wherein you can have a live text chat with our receptionists during business hours, or leave us an E-mail message when we are closed. When you are on the website, just click on this button, and help is moments away!

Thank you for entrusting your pet's health care to us.
Sincerely,
Reid Shufer, D.V.M.

Case of the Month:
Help! I can't walk!! ;
Dublin is a sweet 16 week old Great Dane puppy, who presented to us with a history of 2 days with progressive lameness affecting multiple legs. The owners did not report any known trauma to Dublin and he had had no previous history of lameness. The owner had given Dublin an aspirin two days prior to presentation in an attempt to reduce his pain. He vomited blood and stopped eating the day before he was brought in for evaluation.
On physical exam Dublin was obviously painful. He could barely stand even with assistance. His gums were tacky revealing dehydration. He appeared to be painful in all 4 legs and we noticed some swelling near the wrists (carpi).

Give the Gift of Health and everyone wins!

The greatest compliment you can give us is your personal referral to friends and family. We have created our "Gift of Health" program to help you encourage referrals to our practice. Here's how it works:
- Refer your friends or family members to us and as new client referrals they will receive their 1st visit at 1/2 off the normal fee.
- That is a $19.00 savings!
- When they come in, we will send you a thank you letter with a coupon for $10.00 on any veterinary services (food, drugs and supplies are not eligible).
- After you refer 10 clients to us, you will become a permanent "Good Health Ambassador" and receive 10% off on all your veterinary services for the year.
If you are happy with the services we have been providing, spread the word and give the Gift of Health to all your friends today.
