Cancer is the number 1 cause of
death in dogs and the number 2 cause of death in cats (after kidney
disease). 1 in 4 dogs is likely to get cancer in his/her lifetime.
One of the reasons cancer is so deadly, is that we often don't detect it
before it is too late to do anything about it.
Imaging technology has greatly enhanced our capacity to detect cancer at
its most treatable stages. Radiographs (x-rays) and Ultrasonography
allow us to visualize the inner organs with a resolution that lets us
detect tumors as small as a pencil eraser. While these modalities have
their limits as well, their use can greatly enhance our detection
ability.
In order to improve our chances of reducing cancer related fatalities,
we are instituting a Cancer Early Detection Campaign, which will run
through the end of April. During this campaign, we will be offering
diagnostic imaging packages at substantial savings to you. Our hope is
that the cost reduction will make it easier for you to give your pet's
the optimal care they deserve. |
